Your fourth grade teacher...
I have been married to my husband, Kris, for 21 years, and we have two beautiful children. Both of my children attend school in the Jonesboro school district. Ella is a Senior at JHS and Thomas is a Sophomore. Both attend JHS.
This is my fourth year in fourth grade, and I can't wait to see what your amazing children can do! Math and Science are my passion, so I am so grateful for the opportunity to teach math and science to fourth graders at VPA.
I previously taught first grade at VPA for four years. Before I became a first grade teacher, I worked as a first grade interventionist at VPA. My role as an interventionist was to assist students with reading and math difficulties. I worked with students one-on-one and in small groups to aid in the learning process. I have also worked as the teacher clerk for VPA. Prior to my work as a teacher clerk, I was a substitute teacher for Jonesboro Public Schools. I have been with Jonesboro Public Schools for eleven years, and I am loving every minute of it!
In case you're wondering, this isn't my first career. Teaching your child is what I "want" to do. I gave up a career in Radiology to pursue a new career in education. I believe I have finally found my "dream job"!
My teaching philosophy:
For every child to be given equal opportunities to learn and meet his or her greatest potential. We all make mistakes, and we will learn by making them together.
